SP/RP usage/fatigue question

Postby UrbanShockers » Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:17 pm

Going into game 5 of the Semis, I have Gary Waslewski starting against Sam McDowell. So, not a great matchup, and not much margin for error.

I've had Waslewski designated as my game 5 starter from the outset, but he was brought into Game 1, which went 12 innings. He pitched 3 (and got the win). On his card, he's eligible to start or relieve.

My question is, will he begin game 5 fatigued under these circumstances, or become fatigued more quickly than he otherwise would? If so, I'd mark him "quick hook", since I've a decent (but overworked) pen, and can't count on racking up big numbers against Sudden Sam.

Any input appreciated.

Sorry to come too late, but there is no problem with Waslewski. He had the requested three days of rest that a reliever must have before starting a game.

Thanks, Marcus, that's good to know going forward. Wouldn't have mattered last night, Sam was throwing asprins and dispatched me with ease.
