You pretty much nailed that one, Chris. The guitar styling is slightly different, but otherwise the song and its implementation was like hearing a resurrection of SRV. Closest I ever heard anyone get to that was Ian Moore, a Stevie Ray protege, in Texas clubs before he started making records.

Much improved vocals, BTW -- reminded me of early Billy Gibbons (without the Texas twang) in pitch and texture. I think you can pull even more emotion out of your voice, but this was rock solid -- a big gain in a short time.

Lead guitar sounds good to me, Chris. I wouldn't call Hendrix' riffs in "Red House" too aggressive, and this is stylistically very similiar. If this were a down-tempo tune, I might suggest the lead be more restrained, as it was on "Madness (I Love You)." That's not what this tune is.

There may be some merit to the argument that the rhythm backing be cleaned up a little, maybe be a little less heavy, but I personally like the thicker sound -- especially combined with your vocal growl.

I don't know if you get credits or anything for downloads, but I've got three for my next CD burn ... alongside cuts from The White Stripes, Wilson Pickett, The Beatles, The Pretenders, Zero 7, Ian Moore, Budgie, Robert Johnson, Joe Ely and The Cult. I'll be curious to see if anybody can spot your Indy tracks in the mix during one of my barbecues.

Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Blind Willie Johnson, Sonny Boy Williamson ... it's all good when the ribs are sizzling. Saw Hooker on Beale St. (road trip) back when I was in high school -- before the blue-nosed nags of the nation's Prude Patrol took control -- and was hooked on the blues (although I claim no expertise; just know what I like when I hear it).

You've gotta give some love to Albert Collins too...IMO quite underrated by many, so is Albert king oddly enough...but still, for me...there's Stevie Ray V. and then there's everybody else. 8)
