Why does Bonds have an injury roll on a 3?

(This is only the second time I've played the 2005 game.) Bonds has 600-plus plate appearances and played in 147 games last season. Obviously, he was NOT an injury-prone player. So why does SOM make this mistake????

Probably so he doesn't shred up the Strat records books...

He'll put up some sick #'s anywhere so TSN thought to even the playing field, give him an injury on 3/11.

He only goes down for 3 though.

Because Bonds went on the DL at some point during the year. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, as soon as a player goes on the 15 day DL, he's knocked down to a 3 and so on. I'm sure that for players that are put on the 60 day DL are probably automatically have an injury placed on a 5 or 6.

Where do you think Bonds injury roll wil be next year? Is it possible that he might have more than one injury role on each side of his card? He'll probably end up playing in 18 games or so out of 162.

Actually, Bonds never went on the DL in 2004. He just missed games for rest due to his age. 147 games is a lot played, more than most guys.

Injury roll on the 3 -- not only unfair, but wildly inaccurate.

I heard if you have the card game and drop some "clear" on the card, the injury disappears. :)

Well, I'm guessing that not too many players take off as much time as Bonds due to simply "rest" other than the other over 40 year old players. Being that he still can't get an injury greater than 3 games, SOM probably felt that it would be inaccurate to give him a normal injury on a 2 as he would then probably average more than 147 games played a season. Hence, they must have made a special exception. I really haven't tracked how many games Bonds misses on average in a SOM league, but I'd bet it comes pretty close to around 147 games played. But if he averages significantly less than 147 games, then yes, I would agree with that argument. But I wouldn't assume that's the case.

Also, TSN has nothing to do with the cards. They just take whatever SOM gives them.

And to the next year card question, I bet Barry's card isn't included in the TSN set. Although maybe he will, but his injury will most definitely be on a 7. Although with how many HR's he's hit already in the limited amount of time he's played, it could very well be a very sweet card if it's cheap enough.

It's still REALLY inaccurate. Bonds is being treated entirely different by SOM than other ballplayers.

It doesn't matter how old he is.

Playing 147 games is a good season for many younger ballplayers these days.
