Yankee Civil War League Draft

Postby KEVINEHLE » Wed May 10, 2006 9:36 am

Hey Coffee, I think I'll hold on to my #6 pick. It's one time my Idaho lottery let me down but wasn't a big deal. A #6 and #7 is just what I was looking for. Lets get everyone aware of this string that Pelzer and LMBombers has graciously set up for us. Lets get the draft going. High Noon draft start is OK for me as long as the other guys are responsive when it is their pick. :D Lets DRAFT!!!
By the way North, them Southerners are already way ahead of us on the draft. I'm keeping a close eye on them making sure there is no funny business going on down there. Of course, the Southerners don't pay their players so how motivated can they be??? Slave labor in baseball? I've seen it all.

Might as well get rolling!

Looks like no one wants to trade up for ARod, so might as well nab him and get us underway:

Round 1

Coffee - ARod
Cummings
Stoney
FrankM
Mocrash
Ehlekev

I'll still be open to trading him for some draft pick swaps however?

Cummings sent me a proxy and he chooses C Widger. I know - but he said Widger is his favorite player and he always takes him first.

Coffee, what did you have in mind for draft picks?

I need the NFL's chart for draft pick values.

I dunno Stoney...

something like swapping 1st and 2nd round picks, plus my 8th round for your 7th round?

Yes, I sense a conspiracy here. General Randy and General Larry have obviously strategically put themselves into position to surround my troops and annihilate me while Stoney's men will be milling around camp bored. I'll have to come up with a gameplan with Stoney to see if he can send me some help and flank you guys. I sense a bloody war ahead. The womenfolk will be sobbing. Unfortunately, they will probably be my womenfolk. After I take my last breath on the battlefield, promise to take care of Diane for me.

Well Cummings, can't say that I wouldn't have liked Ortiz, but I'm wonderring on the wisdom of using your #1 pick on a DH?

DH? I plan to platoon Big Pappi in CF with Widger...whom I'm hoping he gets back to me.

Actually I thought I'd pick low...wasn't ready for the pick and didn't wan't to hold the draft 8)

Now, if it were up to me I'd use my 1st pick to have you fighting by my side. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...wasn't that a cutie pie statement

You see, I'm still cracking over the "Gen. Hooker reminds me about how I met my wife" crack so much that my brain is hyperventilated...and then to rop it all we had that 20th regiment headed by Jeff Daniels...whom in my convoluted reading I understood as Pat Sajak...either way, I still crack with that one...you can't expect a giggling man to make good draft picks, right?
