Correct. Diamonds on a player's card negates the result. So, the diamond turns it into the ballpark effects. At Jack Murphy, a diamond turns everything into a 1-16 HR.

I think stealthird is referring to the debate between Penn and Sykes re: whether the numbers behind the # sign have any relevance in card reading. In other words, does an #-HOMERUN = an #-HR 1-8? Obviously, the end result is the same - in the Jack, it's an HR if the card drawn is 1-16. I think Sykes beleived that a guy with a #-HR was hurt when moving to the Jack, while a guy with an HR 1-8 was helped by the move. Penn disagreed and argued that the figures behind the # had no relevance to pricing. Pretty interesting, sometimes heated discussion. If I have a chance, I'll try to find the link on the old board.
