Stoney - I replied, I think there is some room to talk. Not for the guys you mentioned but for other players on & off your roster who might fit our needs. Let me know.

And they're off.........

The great Jhonny Peralta experiment begins, seeing as I couldn't pry Mr. Figgins away from Bubba via Bigmahon for Peralta, I'm forced to play Jhonny in the Field cause of his superior bat.

Can I survive the season with a 4 @ SS???

Can HAL make the defensive substituions in time???

Will Jhonny's bat make up for his stone glove ?

If the Jags fall out of contention, who will swoop in to snag Derek Lee??

Tune into the USKL games every night to find the answers to these and many other pressing questions, IF YOU DARE!!!

TRADE

Postby AFDickie » Tue May 16, 2006 11:24 am

The 0-3 495ers trade this years best value reliever Thompson and last years not a bad choice 2nd baseman Carroll for Wilkerson and this years CY Young-trachsel.

Thompson and Carroll for Wilkerson and Trachsel

Sports Update

Postby cirills » Tue May 16, 2006 2:43 pm

[b:899f557a66]Wilkerson[/b:899f557a66] informed [b:899f557a66]The Unlimited[/b:899f557a66] management that he was insulted at not being included on the team's 25 man active roster, and demanded a trade back to his former team ([b:899f557a66]The 495'ers[/b:899f557a66]) who immediately put him on THEIR 25 man active roster.

Meanwhile, [b:899f557a66]Thompson[/b:899f557a66] who was still shocked and surprised ( :o ) over being taken by [b:899f557a66]The 495'ers[/b:899f557a66] in the FA Draft just moments before he would have been chosen by [b:899f557a66]The Unlimited[/b:899f557a66], was only too happy to finally be going to the team that had scouted him so heavily in the first place.

[b:899f557a66]The Unlimited[/b:899f557a66] hope that journeyman IF [b:899f557a66]Jamey Carroll[/b:899f557a66] can somehow turn out to be a part-time starter at second base next year (with an upgrade in range of course  ), the team's weakest overall depth wise. They had tried unsuccessfully last week to make a deal for a second basemen with [b:899f557a66]The Pacific Alliance[/b:899f557a66], whose asking price was simply too high for them.

The final member of this deal -- [b:899f557a66]Steve Trachsel[/b:899f557a66] -- was seen as a just a throw-in by [b:899f557a66]The 495'ers[/b:899f557a66] (and thus NOT added to their 25 man active roster), even though [b:899f557a66]The Unlimited[/b:899f557a66] management pointed out that [b:899f557a66]The 495'ers[/b:899f557a66] might be too LH oriented at the present time, and that [b:899f557a66]Trachsel[/b:899f557a66] had been an effective spot starter vs. RH heavy teams on previous teams.

This deal had gone back and forth throughout the previous night (although initial negotiations started weeks ago), and was finalized early this afternoon.

As of right now, [b:899f557a66]Thompson[/b:899f557a66] still has not yet been added to [b:899f557a66]The Unlimited[/b:899f557a66]'s 25 man active roster. GM Sandy Shrink said that he [i:899f557a66]"didn't want to rock the boat just yet"[/i:899f557a66] and that [i:899f557a66]"the situation would be addressed on a daily basis."[/i:899f557a66] He did agree that it would not be long at all before [b:899f557a66]Thompson[/b:899f557a66] was [i:899f557a66]"brought up"[/i:899f557a66], but it would depend on who up in the show [i:899f557a66]"created the first opportunity".[/i:899f557a66]

I know it's only two series, but the team that's number one in our overall league rankings -- The Birmingham Baroons -- is winless!!! :o

Must be the new managnement! :P

Meanwhile, the deposed GM -- Bubba Hotep -- has taken the team with the third worst record out to the best start so far.

Like I said, I KNOW it's only two series, BUT ... it's fun to extrapolate.

I'm leaving on a Jet Plane .... for Oklahoma! :x

Hope to be back online tonight. :)
