The glass slipper fits Bali's Bracket Busters as this 30th seed sweeps through Jablomi (6), Panzer Ace (3) and seanreflex (14) to win round 1 bracket 3. Relief pitching can win championships!

The Question of Weighted Waivers

Postby TheGoodDoc » Tue Jun 20, 2006 4:33 pm

I noticed that the different brackets have been differentially applying weighted waivers. While i don't think that it largely matters in the long run, i think that we should maintain some consistency in this tournament when we form the brackets in the next two rounds.

Whether its weighted waivers or not, doesnt matter to me...let's just make sure everyone is using the same rules.

[quote:8be3d58592="Jablowmi"]and congrats to Kevin Matchstick, the 41st seed and winner of bracket 1.

who won bracket 4?[/quote:8be3d58592]

I won bracket 4 in a final series that must rank with the very best ever played in strat.

After going up 3 games to 1, my Hatters lost games 5 and 6 to Yellow Dog's Cinderellas. He had Clemens pitching game 7 (who pitched a shutout in game 3), and the Rocket did the job for 8 2/3 and left the mound with a 3-1 lead, with 2 runners on and 2 out. Hal brought in Agosto to pitch to Lance Parrish who ended the series with a walk-off 3-run HR. Why Hal would bring in Agosto in that spot is a mystery.

I was extremely fortunate to defeat Yellow Dog's team and ccangerame's Team Gomez in the semis. Both those teams had incredible second halves and I was certain one of them would take the title.

Another great save opportunity blown by "Juan Disgusto"...
...as he was unaffectionately known in the Twin Cities.

Blame HAL?

Postby Semper Gumby » Tue Jun 20, 2006 8:58 pm

[quote:5965d7009c]Hal brought in Agosto to pitch to Lance Parrish who ended the series with a walk-off 3-run HR. [b:5965d7009c]Why Hal would bring in Agosto in that spot is a mystery[/b:5965d7009c]. [/quote:5965d7009c]

Probably if TSN implemented the CD-ROM level controls for starting pitching ([b:5965d7009c]TSN's conservative setting = CD-ROM normal setting[/b:5965d7009c]), Clemens would have stayed in until his damn arm fell off.

Thus, HAL will make those changes even though the human owner swore them off via manager and individual control activitation.

Of course, Bernie had a beta engine running WEEKS ago to fix HAL's magical bullpen setting and [b:5965d7009c]we've heard zip from it.[/b:5965d7009c]
