You can keep any number of players from your franchise up to 40. I would suggest keeping at least 30 or 35, since at most you will only have the opportunity to draft 1 or 2 players from undrafted franchises and the draft for players from drafted franchises is just for leftover players.


Just to clarify The supplemental draft will have two phases...

First, we will draft players from the undrafted franchises, this draft order will be based on your frachises actual 2004 record. Every team will get 1 pick and if your franchise had 80 wins or less you will get a second.

Second, we will have the opporunity to fill in any empty spots on our 40 man roster by drafting players who were not protected from the franchises in this league. Again the order will be based on actual 2004 records.

The second phase of the supplemental draft doesn't make any sense to me. Since only one team has as many as 40 players and most have 35 or under, the total of those players waived would not leave enough to fill 40-man rosters (and maybe not even enough for 35-man rosters, depending on the teams selected - since the Dodgers only have 27 players). By necessity, the second phase of the draft would have to include [b:878921d4bd]BOTH[/b:878921d4bd] waived franchise players [b:878921d4bd]AND[/b:878921d4bd] non-franchise FA players.

I count 35 or 36 players for the Dodgers and they have the fewest of any team that I have counted so far. I counted the Twins since I plan on using them and they have 42 players.

You need to count the non-carded players and posssibly the multi-card players.
