I felt confident enough in my "emphatic assertion" to try to not hide behind the word "possible". 8)
I also think that SOM showed more of an unwillingness last year to assign R2 status to the pure closers as they had the year before with Gagne, Benitez, Lidge, etc. despite the Valverde R2 card (who incedently did not become the closer until MUCH later in the year than Putz did this year).
Plus 2 of Putz' 3 two inning nights occured before he had been made the full-time closer, and since then the longest he has gone (besides the other 2 inning night) has been 1.1 IP, and he has several appearances of less than an inning, so before it's all said and done he should be very close to an inning per appearance.
Finally though, who really cares since the comment that sparked this silly debate (I was only trying to have some fun), was for a trade that happened in a DIFFERENT LEAGUE!!! :P :P :P
