I think that the strategy is self limiting. Don't most of the starters who relieve between starts, begin the relief appearance as weak? If not, that would be a loophole that should be closed. However, look at Adams' e.r.a. He's basically Pete without an asterisk -- his 3.7+ era in Forbes sucks. So does his losing 20 games. If someone wants to invest almost 10M in a 20 game loser -- well, be my guest!
In our watered down TSN version of Strat our strategic options are seriously truncated to begin with. Why take away a possible strategy? I've never used it, and don't plan to. It would be a different story if the strategy worked spectacularly well and unbalanced the game in an unrealistic way. But it doesn't seem to based on the leagues I have been in. We need to encourage more players to adopt strategies that place them under .500!
