After 156 games, 5 pitches have thrown 1402 of the team's 1406 innings. I think it's time for TSN to implement some kind of minimum requirement for teams to carry an actual "bullpen".

Personally, I want to know how this guy managed to maximize his 5-man rotation to perfect and yet fielded a completely inappropriate offense? This could have been a 90+ win team with the right hitters. Freehan and Covington in Forbes? C'mon!

I have also seen this but with a 4 man rotation, 4 crappy s/r pitchers and 2 good relievers with the 4 s/r pitchers getting 0 i.p's. Also would like to know how to carry 10 pitchers and only use 6 of them? If this is posiible why have a minimum number of pitchers to carry at all? Nothing wrong with it if you can figure it out, I myself HAVE to carry 10 but I usually only "use" 8 and my teams still suck.

I think that the strategy is self limiting. Don't most of the starters who relieve between starts, begin the relief appearance as weak? If not, that would be a loophole that should be closed. However, look at Adams' e.r.a. He's basically Pete without an asterisk -- his 3.7+ era in Forbes sucks. So does his losing 20 games. If someone wants to invest almost 10M in a 20 game loser -- well, be my guest!

In our watered down TSN version of Strat our strategic options are seriously truncated to begin with. Why take away a possible strategy? I've never used it, and don't plan to. It would be a different story if the strategy worked spectacularly well and unbalanced the game in an unrealistic way. But it doesn't seem to based on the leagues I have been in. We need to encourage more players to adopt strategies that place them under .500!

I've seen it work to the tune of 100-62 while I finished 24 games back....I'm in a league now where this owner is again in 1st place about 1 third through the season and his 5 starters have pitched EVERY single inning....

I learned this strategy from the Himrod Hammers, who beat me in a Finals with a team like this I think. He used Mike Scott, as I recall, as his hammer.

I don't really agree that it's unfair, when you spend this much $ on pitching you ought to be allowed to use them in a deadball manner...

What makes this strategy particularly effective of course is a DH, so pinch hitting is not an option. :wink:

Hey if you want to spend 45 M on a pitching staff they better perform well. I don't think that PBTR particulary has a bargin there. And the season is still young.
