Where to start?
1) There is a difference between not going to play and not wanting them to play.
2)If you are relying on sub $1mill backups who can't catch OR throw to carry your team offensively when a starter gets hurt, I think you are going about this is a wrongheaded manner. Your starters who aren't hurt are going to have to carry THAT load. Just make sure your subs don't give it away in the field.
3) I often (Meusel and Clemente come immediately to mind) use 15 game injury risks and I never spend more than .50 on a sub unless I've got leftover money. It is possible to win with such a setup. :)
