Petco offensive assault?

Well... nearing the half way point in the season our three petco horses are running at a very similar pace. Good luck to the three of you. May the rolls go your way 8)

After 126 games:
52 hr's, 136 rbi's. Not bad for Petco with two Wrigleys in the division. I'm guessing he's had every roll go his way. If I was told this would be his FINAL stats before the season began, I'd have been estatic!!! :D

Well, both DJ and myself have made the finals with this DJ inspired strategy in Petco. Ironically, he's facing me and my Ameriquest team in his quest for the ring. Just like to give kudos to him for what looks to be a decent formula for success. I've had fun with it for sure, and have a couple more similar Petco teams having success as well!

I finished up a Petco offensive tilted team this week. Lost in the first round of the playoffs. Bad defensive team including Peralta at SS and Youkilis at 3B. I wanted to see if Petco would balance out the extra hits I'd be giving up with poor defense, resulting in my opponents getting their share of hits but scattering them out and not allowing big rallies. Interesting season, I think the team overperformed slightly as Duffy, Clark, and Hafner stayed pretty free from injuries.

I started this Kauffman team right after the Petco posted above, using a similar offensive strategy. I dumped "1"'s such as Wilson who can't hit and went with an all around solid "D", except for M Young at SS. Team won 95 games in a league loaded with good managers. My division alone had M Wilby, Maligned and the Erie Seawolves. Every player had the "*" rating to be held on, and the team finished 2nd in offense and batted .292 after being over .300 much of the season. Also stole 296 bases with the "aggressive" setting used all year.

Made adjustments and tweaks from the first Petco team and came up with a 102 win team second time around, in a division that included teams with 93 and 87 wins. Team finished 2nd in runs scored, first in pitching. Overall, a very successful team. Have another one playing .700 ball after 57 games. Proof to me anyways, there is another way to build a successful Petco team other than the typical "good starting pitchers" strategy. Next on the aggenda....Coors or Cell with stud starters and cheap hitters!!!!

By the way, is there anyone who thinks Clemens or Pedro would have had any better success than Moyer had with this the team below? I'm guessing with $10 less in hitting, while the ERA might have been slightly better, the record itself would have been worse.
