[quote:ddf6a1b882="Jerlins"]And holy crap, I am sooooo stupid, and yes, Bill, you have been proven correct yet again. I guess this is an example of how old dogs never change. I NEVER read instructions before putting something together, and now this!!!! I had NO CLUE, and I mean literally NO CLUE, that we had to get down to 30 players before the draft, or anytime for that matter. So I guess there will be players indeed in the upcoming free agent draft. You kept telling me that, and I just kept calling you a windbag. I suppose I read it at one time when i joined this league, but if I did, I sure forgot about it. And with that said..........
Mike, I honestly did not know everyone had to drop 10 players. You are welcome to rescind the trade if you wish. Surely I expect something better than Kouzmanoff at pick 25. I'm cool with it if you wish to rethink the trade.[/quote:ddf6a1b882]
Yep we dump approximately 120 players back into the pool every year
Jerry, and that's not even WHY I keep saying this will be a deep draft.
Last year when we started this deal, we were only allowed to draft [b:ddf6a1b882]TSN Carded[/b:ddf6a1b882] players in the 40 round and supplemental drafts. So there were some players, (Franklin Morales & Dexter Fowler just to name 2) we likely would have like to have drafted that we couldn't. We also couldn't draft them as prospects because although they did not have a card, they did have MLB service time and were threrefore ineligible for the prospect draft.
Well this year, and every year going forward, [b:ddf6a1b882]we will be able to draft any player who played in the MLB for both the Spring draft and the supplemental draft, doesn't matter if they only had 1 plate appearence or only 1 inning pitched.[/b:ddf6a1b882] If they saw playing time they are eligible. (Now before anyone mentions Nelson Cruz, I believe we allowed players that had cards in previous years to be drafted)
Now that also means they are not eligible in the prospect draft, so some of us will be "prospecting" in the free agent draft and likely have 1 or 2 uncarded players.
It might also get you to let go of one more of those 3rd baseman now too as keeping so many limits your options.
BTW, keep reading, you also have the option of cutting MORE than 10 but you cannot cut to any less than 25.
So again, this is the deepest spring draft we will see simply because of the players that were excluded last year, so I'll galdly take 1st 2nd and 3rd round picks from anyone willing to move them. :D
You'd have figured it out once I sent the draftable players list, I have no doubt, course by then it might have been to late, so bravo for your realization. :D
