I agree with this.[/quote:8a403b3192]
It's not that the cards are THAT good. The cards are worth what they're worth. The question is one of drawing some lines somewhere of realistic integrity. Obviously realism is lost in many ways with super relievers, star* starting pitchers, and other items; but I think there are still some steps TSN tries to take to maintain some semblance of reality. I agree with this philosophy and I don't mind at all if a guy with 60 PAs and an 8M card is left out. He shouldn't be able to have 8M dollars of influence on a league with so little real playing time.[/quote:8a403b3192]
See, and I think you can't have it both ways. If you are going to allow 200+ inning rp's, starters pitching on 3 days rest throwing over 300+ innings, guys hitting 70 HR's because they're in Coors field, what difference does it make who's name is attached to an outstanding card??? Which is what it comes down too, the name. "Oh so and so couldn't do that over a full season..." So what, nor should Kuo be able to rack up 200+ innings, but he does.
To me it's a totally arbitrary destinction, because someone in the decision making process gets their nose out of joint if an unknown player sits atop league leadboards when testing seasons prior to launch.
