[quote:a81dc09a36="Jeepdriver"]* I haven't clinched yet. Zim could still get the WC if he sweeps and I get swept.
Joe - you always mention the 1-run losses but rarely mention the ones where you had the luck. For example, game 1 where my ace this season Rowland-Smith gets injured in the 1st inning, which led to the depletion of my pen and Feliciano being brought in to give up the game winning runs in extras.
And re: tonight. I'm w/o Lopez for the whole series and Smith's injury means both Moyer and Hammel starts tonight. Zim still has a shot.[/quote:a81dc09a36]
Ah, yeah, I knew there was something else there, but my brain got stuck on the three way tie. yes, if Zim sweeps, you get swept AND Keyz doesn't get swept, you *could* miss the playoffs.
As for the the luck thing, I do post when I get the breaks, WHEN they haven't been overwhelmingly against me. When you've played as many close games as I have an you're minus 11 I think you can ignore the few breaks you got. ;)
Now that it's the last series of the season, I *will* point out an area where I believe I *did* get very lucky. We didn't have nearly as many injuries as we could have and they weren't for all that long. I kept worrying that we'd make a run only to have injuries derail it, but we just never made a run. :( I didn't bring this up early as to not tempt the SOM Gods. Turns out they just didn't like us this time around.
I bet we end up on the low end of the injury scale and we're not all that injury proof.
GL to everyone tonight and in the Playoffs. May the best team win!
Jet
p.s. Big M, you're right. You made the playoffs the last two leagues and I didn't and I made it the three prior years and you didn't and the one before that (NLD 20) you made the POs and I didn't. So it's been since NLD 20 that we were in the same Div. Actually, upon further review, in the 16 previous seasons we have NEVER been in the POs at the same time and only four times did both of us NOT make the POs.
