PKB recently got me thinking about how much you should spend on a bullpen. Obviously, the better the rotation, the less you will need the bullpen and vice versa.
But what most determines how much the bullpen will be used?
Is it cost of rotation? Innings pitched? S9/S7?
Some pitchers?
1. John Clarkson - S9* - 483IP - $4.75
2. Curt Schilling - S7* - 256IP - $7.34
3. Bob Feller - S9* - 140IP - $7.03
Who will need the most bullpen help?
Is it Clarkson because even though he's S9* and threw a ton of innings, he is cheaper and will get hit harder?
Is it Schilling because, despite throwing 256 innings and costing the most he's only S7*
Is it Feller because even though he's S9* and expensive threw the least amount of innings?
How do you determine it?
