I spent a lot on backups because I have guys who are injury prone at C,2B,and 3B. This is a 100 million dollar DH league and my ballpark is Royals 1980.

Sometimes the number of cards has to do with the relative lameness
of the previously introduced cards. It started when there was just
one card per player and cards got swapped in for lesser years in
existance (Killebrew, Carew were two examples).

When the first card out was one the players best years to begin
with, you don't see multiple years.

But even in those cases, the addition of cards is kind of hapzard, so
one explanation doesn't explain it all... if you want to see a specific
card, scroll down, find the thread where Bernie is requesting new
additions and add your voice to the crowd.

You do have a 15-game injury risk for Robinson, but a "higher injury chance" really only applies to Collins and Mackey. I think you'll be disappointed with your pitching staff. Non-* SPs (in that price range) seem to get rocked. I've found success at either end of the spectrum, spending very little on SPs and a lot on RPs like Sutter and Wilhelm in a super-reliever role, or spending a lot on really good SPs that can pitch complete games and skimping on RPs.

Thanks for the tips. I really like Mike Boddiker's card. I think if that card had an asterisk it would be a lot more expensive. I know several of my starting pitchers have bad cards, but I have them on quick hook and Dick Radatz as my super reliever. I am hoping I can just outscore people with my offense. Is Kiner overpriced? I like all his natural HRs. He is my one basher on a smaller ball team.

personally, i would drop my #5 stater to a .50 scrub and then combine the money from your 2-4 SP and buy 3 *SP with the roughly 15-16 mil. you can keep radatz as your super reliever but have a better SP for him to be replacing.

i love kiner as my one true power hitter on a small ball team.

No one in my league has a team with more than a couple base stealers, so I was considering swapping out Biz Mackey for Ted Simmons 1975. Simmons has a very nice offensive card and he is not an injury risk. With the extra money I could get a better SP. Any thoughts? I have about 3 hours until the season starts.

sure, just make sure all those BPHR's aren't being wasted by other small ball parks in your division.
