Shoot. Clemens is a gd Blue Jay according to the league rules (speaking of, I'd have been better of taking the Blue Jays I think).

So, lemme get this straight: Toronto has the rights to draft Clemens in the AD. But it can use any version of Clemens? I ask because of this:

Shouldn't a team be forced to use the players that are carded for their teams during the AD phase? I understand having some flexibility afterward, but it seems unfair that the Jays could autodraft a cheaper version of Clemens, simply based on the fact that they have the highest rated year. You run into the same thing with Pedro and Montreal. The Expos can draft Pedro, but can take one of his cheaper cards.

(P.S. Sorry I did not catch this earlier -- and I won't bail out, having signed on already--just strikes me as an unfair advantage)

It seems like people could get screwed by battling it out for players in the AD.

At least you are assured of getting that stud SP or bat before the AD.

So if you own Pedro or Maddux, I don't see the problem with using a lesser card.

I understand having the rule to determine ownership. What I was saying was that I feel like the team AD'ing the player should use the card that applies to the team. After that, it's whoever can claim ownership.
