John... you got me thinking... and scouring for our old threads to see what we have done.
We did, in fact, have a rule on trading protected players:
[quote:dfa57b2154]6) One trade involving protected players is allowed per team, after announcing keeper list and before the draft.[/quote:dfa57b2154]
And a couple trades during the draft last season violated this rule. Also, another rule was
[quote:dfa57b2154]1) 7 keeper, or protected, players going into the draft and season. Owners do not have to keep exactly 7, but can not protect more than 7. [/quote:dfa57b2154]
Obviously that did change, since we then went to a 3-1-3 format last season and a 3-keeper format this season.
But there were no rules that restricted trading draft picks or drafted players. No one has traded "keepers" this preseason, so let's maintain this rule of not trading keepers.
You do have to put your keepers and drafted players on your draft card for the autodraft. After the draft, the keepers must remain on rosters through opening day, but drafted players can be cut, traded, suspended for violating the Strat drug policy... :D
I hope this clarifies the issue, and thanks for bringing it up.
Bill
P.S.
Is there interest in committing to more seasons beyond this one? Maybe we can come to some standard throughout....
