I find your team very interesting in what you were able to accomplish. The productivity gotten out of the hitters is truly amazing. However your relieving situation resulted in your demise. You got very little production for 12.43 million in relief help. Saves and wins out of the pen are meaningless, it is the number of losses your pen has that counts most. Even on my worst bullpens with cheap relieving do I very rarely lose 23 games out of the pen, which is a severe disappoinment with such great starters.
Now had this team made the playoffs you would have had a great chance in the first go round as fatigue would not be an issue for your 2 stud relievers, however I can't help feeling that 2-3 million and one four million dollar relievers with the leftover 2.43 million allocated to upgrade Schumacher would have resulted in a much better result. The team ERA should be at least .25 lower which would have resulted in 41 fewer runs given up.
