Kaufmann: 599 113 196 49 7 12 77 81 92 32 5 11 .327 .407 .493

getting back on subject, Texeria is one of those cards I have ONLY seen do well in a hitters park, anywhere else he has woefully underperformed.

Gibbons has been a great 1b/Rf for me in hitters parks, as Murton has been in LF/DH.

Vargas has been good for me so far in the pitching department.

The relevant question here is "value." Best or worst value doesn't mean best or worst player in the deck -- it's cost-relative: performance for price. Good points about Clark, but when it comes to 2006 natural HR vs RHP he's peerless. Worth every penny, injury factor and all, IMHO.

Geekor, those are nice numbers for Roberts, but 12 mil $ worth? The idea of paying that much cash for a guy who didn't even slug .500 for you...? 12 mil for 12 dingers?... I do think the pricing on 2006 2nd basemen is waaaay off the board.

agreed that Roberts is over priced for his Offensive production. BUT the defense add value too. Perhaps (or likely) not enough to justify his salary.

geekor,

In my opinion, having these stats in Jacobs and Kaufmann is pretty nice. When you incorporate perfect defense at 2b, it's certainly worth more than 10M or even 11M.

I'm taking my chances on Roberts in a Kauffman team, as you know, and if I get these stats out of him, I'll be quite satisfied. My fear is that his on-base plunges into the .360ish, as I saw in a few seasons.

I would love to see the teams that had these stats from Roberts, in order to see if they had success, and if not, why they haven't.

Actually lucky, both team made the finals (and lost), including one 100 win season.

It's funny that people would ALWAYS, as a #1 pick, take Boone and his 1 with 35 hr's, evne if he was only really a #6 batter, #5 on weaker teams. But someone who also has that 1 at 2b, but doesn't have quite the pop, but a lot more ob and speed is discounted as not good? Obvioulsy I find him only a value in pitchers parks, but then I find D Lee a value in ANY park. Also I think in 100 mil leagues (which the pricing is geared a little more towards) he is a top pick for sure.

geekor,

sorry, I didn't catch in your first post that you were ironic. I thought you were complaining despite his success. So then we are on the same page.

Given the success you had with Roberts, I am not surprise to observe a 100-win performance.

That being said, on all respect, I did observe a few seasons where Roberts barely had over .360 on-base. Hard to get success when your main player struggles.

Also, you should add that Boone never was close of being 11M (9.07 was the peak, if I recall). 11M is a lot of money for a player that will finish with around 12 homeruns, but I do agree that, in his ideal park---Kauffman, I suppose---he is one good candidate to lay your money on.

I would thought he would be fine in Fenway but he hasn't ....now that other season? Wow a .951 OPs and 1 defense at 2B for 11 million is OK with me. Obviously you can see why I went with him again and can also see why I am so disappointed ...well that and the fact I've lost 8 in a row with that team

for value I like Brady Clark 2.52mil @ DH and Cory Sullivan 1.4mil in the OF. Clark doesn't play good D for CF but as a DH his bat is great in the leadoff spot. Sullivan plays all of the OF positions well, hits for a good average and can steal a base. As a part time player (.96mil) Chris Gomez is also one of my favorites in 06 and 05.
