To answer your questions from above:
There will be 6 players on my current roster who do not have a card for the 2005 season. Of those players, I would obviously have to release them all.
The Philles have 30 players assigned to them. I can replace my 6 no cards with any of 9 new players. I also show 11 players from other teams that I have rights to. This would give me 41 players (actually 38 since I can swap the no cards for new players at 1 for 1). I have 6 2005 Phils on other teams.
Just a side note on this. Of the 11 players that I have rights to who are on other rosters there is Randy Johnson/Yanks, Todd Jones/Florida closer, and also Polanco/Det and Roberto Hernandez/Mets.
I also want to note, I have no concerns, I was just looking ahead in our down time. I don't envy others who have more changes than the Phils, setting the rosters for future years is going to be time consuming.
I am assuming that if a new franchise enters the league they will get their rosters and non cards the first year. That would affect my team but I don't think in a big way.
